Anders Ericsson, a professor of psychology at Florida State University, says that it takes 10,000 hours to learn something. 10,000 hours is, just to get <span style=\"color: #2196f3;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">a rough order of magnitude<\/span>,<\/span> it is a full time job for five years, which is a long time. However, his real message of 10,000 hour theory is to be an expert, to get on top of something.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to learn something to a certain point you can enjoy, you don\u2019t need that much time. Actually, you need only 20 hours with focused <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">deliberate<\/span> practice, according to Josh Kaufmann, author of First 20 Hours. 20 hours is about 45 min a day for about one month, even skipping a couple of days here and there. It is not hard to accumulate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most important thing is to remove fear of learning. Major barrier of learning something new is not intellectual, but emotional. We are scared.\u00a0 In the beginning, when learning something new, we are<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> grossly incompetent<\/span>. Feeling stupid does not feel good.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m encouraged by his message. Maybe you, too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What turns you on? What lights you up?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shall we go out and start what we want?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It takes only 20 hours. Let\u2019s have fun!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I chose the music in the background today, because one of the things Josh learned in 20hours is playing the ukulele.<\/p>\n<p
