The violin bow hair is made of hair taken from a horse’s tail.
One bow uses from 150-160 or 180-200 hairs.
White ones are common, but some are black.
Like human hair, horse tail hair can be kinky, thick, thin, etc…
Out of various hairs, only straight hairs are selected and used for hairing bows.
It takes a lot of work. Isn’t it amazing! 😀
